Mammals in danger

by Sushant Yadav | 28-08-2020 00:12 recommendations 0

Scientists think that within the next 30 years, nearly a quarter of the species of mammals alive today may disappear altogether, becoming extinct. Nearly 15% of the European mammal species that are in danger of extinction.

Giant panda found in the south of China, it is in danger of extinction. The animal¡¯s natural habitat has been destroyed, and it is also hunted illegally. The several species of Rhinoceros are in danger of extinction because of illegal poaching. Iberian Lynx is critically endangered. One reason for this is that there are fewer numbers of its main prey, the rabbit. The Orangutan found only on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. The destruction of tropical rainforest and illegal buying and selling of the orangutans are the main threats to the species. The most major cause of extinction of these animals is human cause, habitat destruction and hunting.

Species in danger are labelled as vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered. These are the latest figures for mammals in danger.
