Secret facts about Dogs 1. Puppies are born deaf, blind and toothless. 2. Dogs are about the same intelligence as a two-year-old human. 3. A dog’s “smell centre” is 40 times larger than a human’s have. 4. Dogs also have a special membrane in their eyes called tapetum lucidium, which allows them to see in the dark. 5. Dog’s noses secrete a thin layer of mucus to absorb scents. When they lick their noses, they are “tasting” smells. 6. Dogs can only sweat through their paw pads. 7. A dog’s regular body temperature is 101-102.5-degree Fahrenheit.
