My college, My pride: From an eye of an Undergraduate of the Institute of Forestry, Pokhara.

Institute of Forestry, Pokhara is located in the western heart of Nepal that lies in Province 4. IOF, an institute where a graduate and undergraduate are educated on multiple disciplines of Forestry like Natural Resources Management, Wildlife Conservation, Climate Change, Forest Harvesting, Forest Economics, Gender in Forestry, and many more.

The institute is well equipped with different Botany, Chemistry, Soil conservation, Forest Engineering, Chemistry, GIS, and much more research lab to expand the research horizon of the students. The best thing about the institution is the framing of practical knowledge through the field practical, excursion, nearly a month tour, site visits, etc so that students get the opportunity to utilize the resources around nature as a part of their learning activities.

The different environment awareness programs related to raising the awareness and sensitizing the people to maintain the conservation value is conducted by a different green organization inside the college in Conservation Significance days like Environment day, Wetland day, Wildlife day, Forestry day, Water day, Tiger day, Rhino day and many more.

Today I marked 3 years of journey in this naturally blessed institution where the periphery of the college has taught me more than the educational syllabus. This place is a golden door to excel in a career that demands the conservation of mother nature till eternity. The greenery around the periphery of the college is so captive here, I never felt the pressure of learning as I have always considered nature as my ultimate teacher.

Not only educational activities, but also the different national festivals are also celebrated with full heart and soul. Different sports activities like Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Tug of War, Marathon etc are also organized prioritizing both Men and Women as an extra curriculum activities to ensure fitness among the students.

As Forestry is a technical subject, So, it mostly emphasizes on learning by doing in nature rather than learning only inside the close door surrounded by concrete walls. The snow-capped glittery mountain that we got to see every morning we wake up , the chirping of the birds, the cool breezing wind that passes through us creating a wave through the green trees around the periphery of the college makes it a perfect learning environment with nature for nature.

The well-structured education and programs and the unresisting services it provides have created an impactful mark in the world of Forestry. The graduate of this institute have marked their victory in many corners of the world to create an impact on our Mother Earth and have dedicated their life in addressing the major burning environment issues around the globe. IOF is the perfect home for the nature lover who can dedicate their whole life as a conservationist.

and I am very proud to be a part of this heavenly blessed institution.

Hail to the Conservation!!

Long live Mother Earth.
