With the production of huge waste every day there is a big question in its management as well.Daily tons of waste is produced that may be degradable or non-degradable.Have we thought of how these wastes are managed? About 2.2 billion waste is dumped from all over the world per year.Well,in case of our country Nepal,we collect the household wastes in a dust bin and give it to a waste collector who come infront of door in every 3-4 days. That collected waste from around kathmandu and naearby districts are taken and disposed in sisdol landfill which lies in Okharpauwa near Kathmandu. It has very huge amount of unseggregated wastes there.Few are organic and many are inorganic.About 1/4 th of waste that can be recycled and reused is selected and sold to industries. In other parts of our country also the wastes are dumped in nearby landfill sites. There are very few population who divides the wastes in various groups, make compost of degradable wastes and try reusing or recycling of the other wastes. But majority of people just don't care and give it to be disposed. We have never thought how much pollution is being created by the waste that we gave to dispose. It is heaping up and forming a mountain causing foul smell around the area and also is the root cause of various diseases and pollution .These days people of Sisdol area are protesting for not giving the waste to dispose there. What happens next is the great question in this case. The major thing that we can do is manage the household waste by ourselves as far as we can .For the left over ones government can make proper ideas for proper management of them all.Proper waste management is very necessary for protecting our surrounding, land and our health too.The unmanaged wastes creates very bad effect. For this every individual should feel their responsibility and should perform to manage the wastes in a proper manner. How is the waste managed in your area eco warriors? You can give some ideas for the waste management so we could all make an effort to solve this problem.

Hello Shreya,
Green Cheers from India
Solid Waste Management is one of the important topic for environment cleanliness .In major cities , the piles of wastes are as high as five-storey building . In few places, recyclable ,non-recyclable ,decomposable wastes are seperated and dealt accordingly .Despite many measures, it is still one of the biggest issue prevailing here .
