A vulture is a scavenging bird of prey. Vulture plays a very vital role in maintaining ecosystem. They helps to maintain  healthy ecosystem. They act as nature's garbage disposure. As we always want our environment should be neat and clean. And that can also be possible with the help of vulture. Yes, vultures are able to keep the environment clean .  They are also able to make free of contagious diseases. By ridding the ground of dead animals, they prevent diseases from spreading to humans and animals. As they have an extremely corrosive stomach acid that allows them to consume rotting animal corpses.

According to the study, there were a total of 500,000 vultures of different species in 1990. But now the number has been declined to just 12,000. From this data we can analyze about how badly our ecosystem is affecting? And the main reason behind their declination is just because of diclophenec were found in their body, which had a direct effect in their kidney. Due to the excessive concentration of uric acid, stones were formed in their kidneys. So this is one of the critical thing we have to look for. Not only this, vulture lay eggs only once a year. It takes 75 days to hatch and takes 120 days before the chicks from the eggs are ready to fly . This is another reason for their slowly disappearing.

So, it is very much important to conserve the vultures. Therefore, many vulture conservation campaign has begun. It has just begun in eastern Nepal. The campaign was initiated by various non-governmental and government organization. They involved in the conservation of the endangered bird species. Under this campaign, there were launched several programs, such as banning the use of diclophenec, setting up vulture restaurants, protecting the habitat of the bird and observing vulture day.

So being a human being its our responsibility to care about environment. And it just impossible without preserving the important species like vulture which has a great role on ecosystem. So, Let's do it. Let's support the vulture conservation campaigns.
