My experience of fruit orchard establishment |

I am a student studying bachelors in agricultural science . Orchard establishment was one of dream projects our college had . Few months back ,we students, along with our teachers initiated the process of orchard estalishment. After layout, pit digging and pit filling, we reached the final stage of the beginning phase . We planted more than 200 saplings of mango ,litchi,guava as our college is located in the tropical region of Nepal. This orchard is very close to all of us . Working in the field at 38 degree celsius was not easy but i feel happy that we did it with collective efforts. This orchard will be a site for research and learning. Moreover these tress will make life nicer. It has been shown that spending time among trees and green spaces reduces the amount of stress that we carry around with us in our daily lives. Trees will increase the oxygen content and improve our air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants such as ozone, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air we breathe. I learned alot of things from this project and also ,after few years when i feel stressed, i can go into the woods , feel fresh air blowing and feel happy. :) |

Being form the same university, I have visualized all the efforts and time you agriculturalist has put upon the work. I feel so pleased to see all the young youths being active towards environment protection and preservation.
Keep up with good works.

Thank you so much Preeti for enhancing the hardwork and toil of students on such precious faculty of our college to initiate such great work piece in our college. Orchad is really going to be treat to taste to people and a research center for we students.
And the memories that we all created , 16th and 17th , can never be replaced too. Right....

Orchard establishment is not as easy as we think.Thank you for the report in which we worked without caring those major challenges. These trees when they will after 10 years not only provides fruits but also add many trees to balance our ecosystem.

Wow so cool post preeti baini. We are so thankful to our Horticulture department for such an initiations on our collage. Of course it was not a easy for us to work on 38 degree celsius temperature but we did it and we are so lucky to be the part of this dream project.
