As a consumer, you have a lot of power that you may not know about. It is so important to understand why you need to support companies that are taking responsibility for their impact on the environment. While this may seem different at first, you can live your life normally and support ethically sound companies. There are many different companies out there that have done serious damage to environment also to people and their health. You will need to do some research to see what companies are sustainable and also ethical for the different products that you use. Here are several different areas of concern that are important to think about when buying from a company: AirOur air is important because it is something that we use every minute of everyday. There are a lot of concerns for air pollution, especially in bigger cities. Companies have a big role to play if they are producing products at a factory and giving off toxic pollutants into the environment. When companies do this, they can cause major health concerns for everyone in that city. Citizens of the town and neighboring towns can complain of health concerns and even develop more serious conditions that eventually result in death. Your Water and Water SourcingYou may think that bottled water is all from the same place or collected from some untouched spring in the middle of a green European mountain. This could not be farther from the truth because many companies cut off water sources from third world countries. There are good water companies out there so you do not have to give up your bottled water just yet. The LandThis is another huge concern that can have major consequences. Take a look at the Love Canal incident that led to major health problems of the residents. This is not the first time that this has happened and it probably will not be the last. You can help stop this from happening by being aware of what you are buying and where it is coming from. You do not have to buy from companies that are still in business even though they have done major damage to our ecosystem and the land. Be aware of companies that are in your community and check to see if anything weird is going on. Companies Responsibility to the ConsumerThere are many companies that do not disclose all of their information to the consumer. There are companies such as doTERRA that make a lot of claims that are in fact not completely true. This is actually normal for many companies that want to sell their products and do not really care about their employees or consumers. You will want to check out multiple sources of what people are saying about the company and any class action lawsuits that have been made against them. Reading reviews about different products can also be helpful when deciding if you want to purchase a specific product. Health ConcernsThere can be serious consequences when buyers and consumers are not doing their homework on certain products. Take this recent case of the breast implants that have been linked to a rare form of cancer, ruining the lives of many women. Many of the recipients had undergone chemo for breast cancer and were trying to rebuild their confidence, only to find out that they had just put cancer into their body again. Keep your eye out for ingredients that are dangerous and keep up on the news and consumer reports. This will help you to not fall prey to business strategies that just want to make money quickly. Buying does not have to be a headache. Once you take some time to figure out what companies you want to support you can shop without any worries. What are some companies that you stay away from?
