What can i do to reduce Air Pollution? |

More than 18,000 premature deaths in Kenya every year are linked to air pollution, figures from the WHO reveal.
Kampala, Uganda's capital, has the worst air pollution in Africa (PM10) and the 15th in the world (PM2.5), the WHO database reveal. Uganda also does not regularly measure its air. In order to reduce air pollution in my country i would do the following:
1. Ditching my old cars from the streets altogether. The world population deserves a less-polluted life. Vehicles which do not meet emission standards should not be on the streets.
2. Purchasing and using unleaded fuels. Lead is major component of air pollution and affects brain development in children. 3. Using safer energy like solar energy and electricity which emits zero pollutants.
4. Advocating for ¡°No smoking in Public¡± policy in major towns and cities in Kenya. 5. Growing more trees in order to absorb pollutants like carbondioxide before it reaches the toxic level. 6. Being an active environmental activist and challenging local authorities on issues like setting a coal plant in Lamu. Coal is a major environmental hazard which cannot be tolerated. 7. Avoid the use of fossil fuels which leads to air pollution and deletion of ozone layer. 8. Starting an environmental club in order to manage all the refuse and garbage alongside roads which leads to accumulation of Methane-a very hazardous greenhouse gas.
