Veterinary, my pride!

by Pallavi Adhikari | 05-02-2019 23:56 recommendations 0

Veterinary, as we know is a profession that deals with treating and caring of every species of animals except for ¡®social animals¡¯ homo sapiens sapiens.
Interesting! Isn¡¯t it?

After I got admitted to college even though I had no serious interest, I, then started to weigh in the pros and cons of the faculty. And I was surprised to find no disadvantage at all. Yes, now I really feel fortunate to the day when I saw my name on the veterinary merit list.

Being a veterinarian, it is obvious I¡¯ll praise the field ¡®I happened to be in¡¯. But what makes me so delight about my profession is that we get to feel the emotions of variety of animals that cannot utter a word about it. We get to treat the most selfless creatures on earth and get to know so many individuals that have made us survived in this huge world. And I feel privileged to be part of a greater fraction of the ecosystem than my contemporaries in other fields.

Nevertheless, it is not really easy getting along with the profession because as a veterinarian, we need to prepare ourselves for the extremes of conditions. Waking up with the birth of a litter of puppy and death of the most loved member in the family can bring out the mixer of emotions on our work. Dealing with small cute animals and also handling those having thrice of your weight, cuddling with the playful ones and encountering the ones with full of aggression could be difficult sometimes.  So, our role is truly based on compassionate ground. The connection to the patient and the owner of course should be soulful.

Do you know, pets are being the most desired gifts these days. People love to have companion animals as  gifts on their birthdays, Christmas or any other special occasion. Pets are being adored as a member of the family and people don¡¯t afford any undesirable conditions to their pets. Apart from pets, the category of animals that a vet has to deal with has a really wide range. They can be large domestic animals like cattle, buffalo, equines or reptiles like snakes and lizards or might be verities of birds. So a vet should always be ready to tackle the condition of the animal or also the owner. We never know the feeling that they are having with the condition.

I believe veterinary is not just a profession but a character or attitude that he holds along with his title. As I mentioned above, compassion is the most required attitude of a vet following calmness and patience. Having written Dr. in front of your name doesn¡¯t create anything but if you can take the honor with you there¡¯s much more than a doctor inside that ¡®Dr.¡¯

only happiness i see.

This article is really an inspiration one and would be an very much interesting to read for the newly admitted students as it shows the passion to be a veteranary doctor.

Animals are very important part of our ecosystem but poaching of wildlives and abandoning of the domisticated animals have been of huge problem these day.

Thank you for your beautiful report.
    Keep Writing :) :)
