Biodiversity in India

by Rahul Patel | 08-02-2018 23:32 recommendations 0

Biodiversity in India has emerged as a mature and dynamic institution, strengthening the edifice of the environment and supremacy of natural laws. The creed of the biodiversity protection is now regarded as the basic tenet of the constitution and the protection of environment is seen as a crucial mechanism to uphold ecology. But since the involvement of the humans, the spirit of biodiversity has been threatened. The protection mechanism of the original habitat of the flora and fauna, in- situ, has been stigmatized due to its opacity. To restrict the unfettered power of the humans, on the name of development, other wings are also trying to have their say in the protection mechanism of the environment and biodiversity and the interpretation of environment laws to ?right to life? by judiciary is an example to it.

At present biodiversity in India is facing real threat from our society. It is not true that the people in India are not very concerned about the nature or its diversity but they are bit irresponsible and used to such an enrich gift to us by mother earth. We are just over exploiting its resources and darting ourselves behind its horrible consequences. We have to understand that we are not the real owner of such a beautiful gift but just a trustee of resources that we got from our ancestor and it?s our responsibility to pass it on to our future generation for their survival. According to data gathered that the production of wheat is decreasing every year just after 2012 because of the maximum use of pesticides, insecticides, chemical fertilizer and the worst is the reach of plastic and plastic stuff to the rural area and agricultural land. The number of plastic thrash in the sea water will be twice the number of fishes by 2050. In simple words we can say that sea will be fishless by 2050?sounds horrible???? But this is fact?. fact of our dirty play with nature.

It?s the hard time for us to be responsible and just carry the responsibility to shift the consequences of our foul play with nature. We don?t have to do much we just have to bring some changes in our daily life. We have to make promise to ourselves to avoid the use of plastic and the food actually rapped with plastic. We must limit the use of non-biodegradable goods, have to use natural resources very economically.By bringing such changes in our life we can expect healthy being of our people our country and our mother earth.
