Water scarcity is the lack of sufficient usable water to meet the demands of water usage within a region.Or It simply refer to shortage of usable water.          Clean and save drinking water is scarce .Today, almost one bilion people in the less industralised countries donot have access to portable water. In Cameroon , especially in urban cities like yaounde, douala and bamenda and its environs people have gone for  months and years without poroper drinking or usable water. Most households have resorted to nusing untreated water sources such as bore holes and rain water collected from ntheir roof tops.           some iof the main causes of water scarcity which i examined in Africa , taking Camerooon as my case study  are population expansion, urbanisation, wastage iof water ,vegetation destruction and deforestation, climate change, and raisin demand for food sulply.                                                                                    water scarcity has affected most developing nations in four main ways health, hunger, education and poverty.                                                                  Governments must put in place conservative mechanisms such as sensitizating the population ,protectiion of water shades,re-planting of cut down trees, avioid wastage of water especially thru broken pipes, control dumping of waste in rivers and streams to remedy this proplem of water scarcity.

Azieh, thanks for sharing concern about water scarcity which is currently a worldwide issue. As is being said the next wars will be fought over water and not oil. We need to intensify conservation efforts and stop wastage of water to ensure that we donor end up depleting this valuable resource.
