From Nov10-Nov20 2016 there was a green event going on in Kathmandu, Nepal known as Greenovation Startup Challenge Kathmandu 2016. The event was about gathering a number of people from various academic backgrounds where they had to come up with a green business idea and the top three winners would receive seed money of Rs. 150000.

Well, it was not just a competition but a learning process for us participants.  As we got to know about the basics of any business startup, methods of design thinking, pitching, develop a business model canvas and networking. Moreover, we got to learn from the mentors and guests. During the last three days before the award gala, there was a 54 hours marathon where each group with their group leaders had to present a whole new business plan and had to make sure that it was ecofriendly.

There were twelve green business ideas, listed as:

1.      Sishnu Nepal (winner)

2.      Ground apple (winner)

3.      bio gas stove (winner)

4.      recycling of the tier (winner)

5.      recycle app

6.      marketing of IPM vegetables

7.      hydroponics

8.      bio degradable sanitary pads

9.      reusable sanitary pad

10.  ecofriendly hand bag

11.  walk for a cause

12.  smart agri business

The seven days program came to an end and all of us were really proud and gratified with whatever we learned and experienced from the event.

That's good. But you guys should take steps for the implementation of each and every ideas. Then they will become useful. Without implementation you will get just prizes. But it wont help the environment. All the winners should sit together and help each other to implement their ideas.
