On 22th April, a lot of seedlings were distributed to the neighborhood of "Eldorado". Residents of the area had the chance to plant some seedlings. The idea was to create an activity in which people could be aware of the importance of preserving the nature and the Earth itself. The exact location of the intervention was around "Igarapé do Trimba". They planted 30 seedlings of native species and fruitful trees in a permanent preserved area (river margin). The action was organized by the City Hall of Manaus (capital of Amazon state in Brazil). There is an afforestation plan of 2016 for the Manaus City. One of the goals is to plant around 10.000 seedlings in 56 different areas including parks, streets and other public areas. This kind of activity is very important and meaninful in terms of providing to citizens a chance to feel the interaction humanity-nature-planet. Hopefully, after the Earth Day Celebration 2016 in Manaus, more people are aware about the importance to care our Earth! Lets keep working green towards a sustainable development!
