This Earth hour for me proved to be a very innovative one as I celebrated at through the Earth Hour Walk, at the Bay venue park at Downtown Dubai, as the lights went off at the major places of tourist interest all over UAE, one of the most significant ones being the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa.

My Earth Hour was special, not only because I switched off all my lights in my house and came for this event, but also because this time round, there were some great activities lined up, which provided for a innovative method to save energy. Some of my favorite ones are as follows:

-Cycle-Smoothie: This really creative booth at the Earth Hour complex provided for me to cycle for about 30 seconds, and a cup full of fruits was placed inside a mixer. A dynamo attached to the cycle was powering the mixer, and the harder I cycled, the smoother my fruits became! It was a really tasty reward. Yum!

-Water Quiz: There was a quiz to emphasize not only the importance of clean energy, but also the importance of saving water on this Mother Earth oriented event. I even won a sustainable water bottle in the quiz!

-Green Energy Gym:  This was just no regular charging station for the mobiles, but what made it special that your mechanical energy was used to power the mobiles through a special cable that branched into a charging point for all types of phones.

-Power Colour station: There was a small station which was powered by piezoelectricity, meaning when a pedal was pushed, it was powered. And then, it had two small bulbs on each side of the machine, which displayed different colors. And it had various games such as memory games, guess the colour games, etc. based on the dual multi colored bulbs.   

 -Earth Hour Walk: Of course, to top it all, was the traditional Earth Hour Walk which proved to be, as usual, one of the most efficient methods of spreading awareness about the event to the masses. Kudos to the Dubai Municipality!

-Zip Line Adventure: Of course, there has to be some other mechanic entertainment as well! There was a zip line adventure game, which was absolutely thrilling and provided a great incentive in terms of absolute adventurous zeal!

All in all, it was really an exhilarating experience, to have such a great amount of activities that were lined up to make this day extremely memorable! This Earth Hour was truly very memorable! Check out some snapshots below.
