Hello Everyone! Im updating an article which is an interview about Bindu Bhandari, an sister here who is a ambassador. I met her by chance at COP21, a climate change conference that was held at Paris, France. Luckily I had a chance to participate COP21 so badly. Also I wanted to write an article about this conference to people. Bindu said she was here to participate either as an observer and her environmental group had a booth to promote their activities. We both had a great chance to share about our environmental activities in our communities. We were truly proud of being as a member of tunza eco generation. How much we were influenced and impressed by other members here. For me Bindu is one of my mentor in this youth environmental field. I was always surprised and encouraged by Bindu?s articles on the web. There?s no doubt that she seemed just as she is. She looked sincere eco warrior and green leader. Unfortunately we had no enough time, so this interview was sent by email. I want to thank Bindu to answer the interview kind and sincerely. As I read Bindu s answer one by one, I could feel that I thank Tunza Eco Generation, also I was thank to the Tunza teachers, Tunza Familes, everyone who was related to this group. I think it is luck to write articles here. Thank you.1. Can you introduce yourself?Hello. My name is Bindu from Nepal.2. How did you get interested in environment.I got interested in environment when I realized my surrounding getting polluted and degraded each day. I realized how the unplanned urbanization is transforming my green villages to bare, lifeless cities. This struck my heart and mind deeply, the more I volunteered in eco- campaigns for cleaner, greener earth the more passionate I became in environmental issues.3. As I know, you are an ambassador at Tunza Eco Generation. Which is the most impressed activity you can remember?I feel blessed to recall, I was selected as Global Facilitator for Global Youth Eco- Leadership Summit (GYELS) 2015 in Seoul, Korea. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity where I get to learn and share about environmental issues in an interactive, multicultural environment. GYELS is a rare opportunity that boosts the eco- leadership of the the participants and encourages them to take the lead at local and global level.4. Write 3 activities that you did for our environment.Well, there are many things I have been doing for my environment. Enlisting 3 are as follows:- Implementing green lifestyle by myself (example: using public vehicles, solar energy, recycling etc)- Organizing workshops, contest on environmental issues time and again for youths of schools, colleges.- Formation of Tunza Eco- club in Janapriya Public school, Chitwan Nepal which is an independent environmental working group of student.5. What do you think is the biggest problem of climate change, global warming?- I think, the greatest menace to climate change is it has been taken as an issue of political will rather than human rights.6. And is there a way to solve it?Yeah every challenges comes with solutions. Climate change is univocal, thousands of vulnerable people are there who have never been heard by the leaders in utmost hierarchy of negotiations and decision making. To solve this, leaders should think and see outside the box, the reality of climate change. Every human has a right to live in a sustainable world and the day when climate change becomes a concern as a human rights then every problems associated can be dealt with.7. Ways that citizens can save the Earth? (3 more!)-Start Green lifestyle your self- Sensitize your family- Spread the knowledge you have, learn share and network for eco- solidarity.8. Why did you participate at COP21?- I participated in COP21 as an observer and to realize lively atmosphere of negotiation process and to share my experience to the youths of my community. I participated to be a bridge for linking voice of youths from my community to the global community advocating for climate justice.9. What should the leaders of each country discuss ?Leaders of each country should focus on reducing the vulnerability and empowering the vulnerable to tackle climate change.10. If you have something to say to kids that are interested at environment?Dear friends, keep in mind this earth is the only home we have explored till date. Our ancestors handed it to us with great care but human selfishness has crossed the limit and we can't assure our children can live in the sustainable environment. So, lets think of our mother earth, you don't need to think of great things just start with small steps by yourself (eg- saving energy, recycling, segregating waste, planting trees in your birthday and other occasions etc. ), implement in your family and spread the message in your network. That would be an invaluable contribution you can make to your environment. Just keep in mind what Mother Teresa said "Glory lies in doing small things with great love"Thanks for your sincere answering to my questinnaires. I hope to see you in COP22 at Morocco as well. I think you?re a inspiring, enthusiastic and innovative green leader. Thanks again.I also uploaded this article in Tunza Eco Generation Korean Site (Ggumpu)
