Shopping Malls Adopting Earth Hour as their Corporate Environmental Responsibilty

by | 01-04-2015 10:45 recommendations 0

WWF's Earth Hour is heavily supported by capitalists, shopping malls to be specific. It's ironic though, because malls consume a lot of energy, produce a lot of residual waste and even destroy natural landscapes in exchange of wide parking lots. However, let's look at the bright side. The world of business is now adopting corporate environmental responsibility. Malls, preparing environmental activities is one of the indications that we are now living in the 21st century green revolution. They were not doing it before, all they do is buy and sell. Because these are people's leisure, it is not a wonder that Earth Hour is the most popular environmental advocacy in our country. To remind all, Earth Hour should not remain in shopping malls, energy conservation should be brought to our homes and in our lifestyle.

You are right, Lem. It's an ironic situation but bright sights definitely exist. Step by step, first starts like this and then raising awareness and then real change in our perception :)
