Help Bandung!

by | 13-11-2014 21:07 recommendations 0

Sometimes, your trip to your school, can be interesting. You can see people, trees, buildings, and other things out there from your window.  But, unfortunately, in Indonesia, right now is the rain season, so it depends on what time we can see it. I usually see it when I am in my way to school, because when I go home from school, the sky gets darker, and I can?t see anything again except raindrops.

I live in Bandung, and I think I am very lucky to live here because Bandung is the flower city of Indonesia. It won?t be too hard to search any trees here, or any greenlands. You can find it anywhere. And, Bandung has mountains, so it makes the air colder than others. Old people told us, that a long time ago Bandung was colder than now, because there wasn?t any trash. I wasn?t surprised, because I admit it that now trashes start to appear in this city.

I have no idea why some people here (not all of them) don?t even care about their own city. I mean, people love to be in Bandung, visit the city because of its beauty, its views. Bandung has a nickname ?Paris Van Java? because when tourists come here, they will see the Indonesian version of Paris, France. But, I think it can disappear by Bandung?s people actions too.

Everytime I am on my way to school, I always see people throw their trashes from their window, and throw it anywhere. Sometimes I feel sad for those cleaning workers, because they work so hard everytime, but people don?t appreciate it with well. Just, think about this, I live in this city, I love it, very much, but I am afraid that this city?s beauty can disappear, slowly. Now, maybe Bandung is still beauty, but now, I am very sad because I can see trashes anywhere. Not that much, but it still hurts for our land.

Maybe now, the city still has the fresh air, but from my experiences, I do feel like this city losing the fresh oxygen everytime. And, everytime it is raining, flood can be anywhere. The water is too heavy to be hold by the water way, and it is all because of trashes there! Sometimes, I feel so angry with people, and I like to clean my water way everytime when it is raining. Seriously, these little actions from people can change the whole world.

Imagine, everytime you throw your trashes everywhere, without care about your mother earth, from time to time, it will be an extinction, not because of natural disasters, but people actions. Land is just like a baby, it needs people to care, take care of it.

It is not that hard to throw your trashes to their own places. If it is an organic trash, throw it to the organic side, and if it is an anorganic trash, throw it to the other side. It is not that hard, it is not a job that you have to lift it with so much power. You have two hands, so use it with good. I hope...my city can be better than this. I hope my city can hold the most clean, healthy city nomination for national. Maybe? Hahaha.  So, if you don?t want Bandung turn to dirty city, so take care of it. Just start it with little actions, it easy. I hope they can do the throw-trash-to-its-place.

An action for this won?t work smoothly if you aren?t neat for this. So, people can?t just tell this, and hope that people will change their minds, but it?s not. We have to plan this by ourselves, because people words can?t be an effect for us, if we don?t have a full heart to do this kind of thing. Do everything from your heart, or it will break in the middle of the way.

I fully agree, Alissa. If people are responsible, the cities will be greener & beautiful, without trash.
Make a beginning, start awareness. Thing will change, for SURE.
    All the best, God Bless.

This is a dramatic report but well written because you really tried to get it from your own experiences and based on your own perspective and maybe from the perspective of others also. I believe this is true also in the Philippines. Our country is beautiful but the people are lacking of attention in what they do always. But I believe Alissa, that this is our role as a youth. Because you have the capacity to think and more aware of what is really happening, try to connect with others to make a solution. It maybe small but it will contribute to a big solution. Like joining an organizations and linking to your municipality. You can be the voice of your society. :)
