Garbage trolley bins in Dubai are getting a makeover with the Dubai Municipality introducing more user-friendly and stylish trolleys that ease the work of municipal workers.

The Waste Management Department of the municipality has given 100 such advanced handcarts in ?Skipper? model for collecting and removing waste.

Commenting on the new move, Abdul Majeed Saifaie, director of waste management department at the civic body, said the workers at the department are the unsung heroes who keep the city clean and beautiful.

He said it is the municipality?s responsibility to provide them with better equipment that eases their work and the distribution of Skippers came in that context.

The new equipment – an orange-coloured rigid container, with solid rubber tyres, jockey wheels, reflectors and removable handles — can carry 70 litres of waste. The official said they very well match with the status of Dubai unlike the old waste trolley bins.
