The Late H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the father of our nation was a great leader of humanitarian works. The UAE has decided to celebrate the 19^th of Ramadan every year as Zayed Humanitarian Day to inspire and encourage humanitarian activities.

On the eve of this day, Students For The Earth and Navabavana Global Youth jointly organized the ?Go Humane? iftar event for more than 250 labourers. The event was conducted on 27^th July 2013 in Al Sajaa area, Sharjah.

Students for The Earth (SFE), is a youth organization based in the UAE with a worldwide reach, was started in March 2013. Our facebook page has now 800 likes and a weekly reach of more than 1,500 people. We can be reached on www.facebook.com/studentsfortheearth and www.studentsfortheearth.weebly.com . We have organized and participated in environmental and social events and also we conduct numerous events through our facebook page, etc. More than 20 volunteers took part in the event from SFE.

Navabavana is  a Youth based social movement based from Vadakkekad, Kerala. Their motive is to build a socially committed Youth for a better today and tomorrow. They can be reached on www.facebook.com/Navabavana . They have conducted a lot of events for their cause, like iWrite, Iftar events, etc. About 6 members from Nbn joined in this event.

The volunteers arranged the venue infront of the mosque by laying out mats, water, food, etc. We had volunteers who were adults till those who were small children. Each and everyone took part in the event and all of them had fun. We made new friends and also rekindled our friendship too. Another speciallity of the event was that we broke the fast along with the labourers.

The children were very happy. One of the child commented, ?It was my first voluntary event and I was really happy when I got to share happiness with the unsung heroes of UAE. I never thought voluntary events were so much fun.?

To share a message of environment and sustainability, we gifted 4 trees to the labour camp. We selected the Neem tree, as it has both medicinal value and as well as it gives fresh air. The plant would be taken care by them and planted when the weather would be suitable.

We all supported the Dubai Expo 2020 Bid too with the banner. We shared the spirit of the bid among others too.

The event ended with distribution of certificates and vote of thanks. We enjoyed the event thoroughly and we look forward for your support and organize more such events.
