Please see the image in the end before reading this post. It is a part of Monday Maul cartoons created for 'The Daily Maul' by New York-based artist Vin Paneccasio. It is a powerful image that depicts another shameful act that man commits. I want to share it on this forum as the picture speaks volumes about what poor defenseless Rhinos could do in return (though of course it can never happen), considering the atrocity that man commits on them.
Rhinos have been slaughtered to near extinction to fuel the insatiable demand for rhino horn products in China - and more recently Vietnam - all based on myths about the alleged medicinal properties of rhino horn. Besides the traditional uses of rhino horn, wildlife traffickers are promoting "non-traditional" uses, such as a cure for hangovers and a treatment for cancer. These myths surrounding rhino horn are why rhinos are slaughtered illegally - and why wild rhino populations in Africa and Asia remain under threat. Apparently the newly wealthy in Vietnam also seek rhino horn to display as a status symbol.
Please visit the website (http://www.savingrhinos.org/rhino-extinction-crisis.html) for more information. Please also share information with others to spread awareness and save this animal from man's greed and ultimate extinction. It is time we realised that every living being is an equally important part of the ecosystem.

Yes indeed, it is sad. Humans sometimes can become so inconsiderate and selfish that even the lives of other living being becomes meaningless to them.

Feeling sad for the Rhinos- That they are slaughtered for just a misconception about their horns.

Yes Sneha, it is indeed sad and horrifying.
Thanks Arushi for acknowledging. I just read your article also after reading your comment.
I think, it is important for governments to control the problem from all side- catch and punish the poachers, control the trade and ban the end products. Even the buyers of Rhino Horn products should be punished.
