United4Literacy: Unity for Change!

Hello friends, I strongly believe that no matter what problem the world faces there is only one way to solve it: solve it directly and as a team. Because, it was said by Mattie Stepanek "Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved." As a concerned youth I am worried about many issues facing our world. However, two of the most important causes for me are climate change and child illiteracy. I feel that Tunza provides a great platform for me to get involved in combating the climate change issues. To deal with the illiteracy issues however, I am the founder of my organization to directly provide resources in order to help children become educated. We also spread awareness about how important education is to public, nations and world. We operate a blog, facebook, and website to use social media to discuss the importance of education for children. Young Adult behind United4Literacy: I believe that many children do not realize the importance of the education they receive so easily in North America. My hope is that even as a young adult I can do my part to create equally educated children and youth around the world. I started small by volunteering at the local association that helps new immigrants and their children settle in Canada, I help at a homework club. I was amazed to see the talent and potential that all the children showed, even if some did not understand English. That inspired me to go further and to do more. So, I created a hope to reach out and help, I call it united4literacy. Our mission at united4literacy: Mission Statenment: Let no Child be Left Behind! CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR WORLD! We hear this in North America so many times. A cliche that is overused. But what about so many countries around the world where many children have no future? They are helpless and forgotten because they do not possess a great tool: an education. An education is not just a requirement by law but also one of the powerful tool a person could possess, and it the right of every child according to the Convention of the Rights of a Child. But unfortunately in many places around the world this right will remain a distant dream for many children. Unless we reach out and empower the forgotten. They could bring change and solve many issues of the world, become the leaders on the global stage, if all they had was an education.
