"The proper use of science is not to conquer nature but to live in it." We celebrate our birthdays with great pomp and show. But what do we for our Mother Earth.  The same were the thoughts that came in U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson?s mind.  He dedicated this day for Mother Earth.  Many thoughts flowed threw me, ?How am I going to celebrate Earth Day?? So I googled for something to do during the Earth Day. One of the first result was ?MyBee'ah Walkathon 2013?

So I decided to participate in this great initiative by Bee?ah. It was a walk of about 2km from Al Qasba to Al Majaz waterfront. The walk took place with a overwhelming number of more than 600 interested residents taking part. Even kids aged 3-4 years were also seen in walk. The main message was to create awareness amongst the community about environmental issues and focus on the 3R?s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Several activities at Al Majaz Waterfront were also conducted by Bee?ah, where the walk finished, teaching children and their families about the environment and the simple methods of recycling.  It was a wonderful experience and I was proud to be a part of this initiative by Bee?ah.
