Planting trees and saving trees- By Simran Vedvyas I have had the opportunity to plant trees in my own name as award and appreciation BY EMIRATES ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP, Dubai as I have been the Top Paper collector for THREE CONSECUTIVE MONTHS in 2011. Also in 2010 I had planted tree in my name. Every Birthday of mine and for all special occasions I make it a point to plant trees and sponsor them with my small savings. I had planted trees in KENYA -AMBOSELI, as overgrazing and activities of elephants in the region had left the land with no trees. I also collect paper from neighborhood, community and my school and ensure to drop it to the recycling center. I participate in painting, photography, essay writing and sharing competitions and debates to convey message to ?SAVE TREES AND PLANT MORE TREES?, and not cut them for our selfish needs. Trees are our best friends. They play a very important role in our life. We cannot live without them. Trees help to control pollution: They absorb carbon dioxide. They improve our environment. They cause rainfall and protect water resources under the ground. They prevent floods and droughts. They give us timber, paper and firewood. Timber is used in making houses, train compartments, big boxes, tools etc. Without paper life may be difficult for us. Paper is necessary for study and writing. People in villages use firewood to cook meals. They use wood to build houses, huts, carts and agriculture tools. Trees also give us food, gum and medicine. They also add to the beauty of life. Gardens cannot be charming without them. We need them for oxygen and good health. We have to try our best to grow more trees. Planting Trees can help us save the balance in the nature and support a healthy environment. By Simran Vedvyas |

Kenya is so beautiful, for me I had pledged to collect 1000 pairs of shoes last year and I managed to outreach and collect 1500 pairs of closed shoes for the Diabetic patients in Africa because of the rough terrrain and lack of resources many children and adults are getting their feet amputated ...which is a concern and thus I had visited the officials in Kenya for the placement and distribution of these through the US Aided AMPATH.
I hope to visit again...sure enough my trees will be waiting for me too. Thanks for your comment. Hope to see you soon
