Save the endangered Hawksbill turtle |

The beautiful hawksbill turtles , which are older than dinosaurs , are now critically endangered and included in the IUCN red list of endangered species . I live in Dubai and these turtles used to nest and breed in abundance on our shores till recently . However , over the last couple of decades due to accelerated loss of habitat, accidental fishing, pollution, human harvest and climate change, the beautiful hawksbill turtles are facing the danger of extinction.Every day several injured turtles are washed ashore . Many of them are unable to swim as they have barnacles on their bodies. With the help of local experts, these turtles are nurtured back to health .Once the turtles recover , we gather on the sea beach and release them on the sand . The turtles use their flippers to move through the sand and slowly reach the water . Many of them get washed back ashore by the waves and we help the turtles back into the water. They look so helpless on land but once in the water they appear to be in their element ........ Report by Ms. KEHKASHAN BASU ( 11 years old )

Good Job!!! You did a great job. Not many of other children can have that kind of opportunity. Thanks a lot for the article! This subject is always important but people easily forget it. It helped me remind this. The article is really awesome! :D
