The incessant environmental wear has caused great concern worldwide and caused economic, political, social and scientific consequences that affect all species on the planet. Following this issue, the UN created in 1972, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which plays the role of leading environmental authority in the world has 6 priority areas of work, which are: Climate Change, Disasters and Conflicts Ecosystem Management, Environmental Governance Harmful Substances (Hazardous Waste) and Working Efficiency. In turn each of these areas has specific objectives and international projects that seek solutions to the growing environmental problem.
One of the most promising projects, UNEP's GEO Cities Project, which focuses on 46 cities in Latin America and the Caribbean to conduct environmental assessments that have been conducted since 2001 in order to raise awareness and Government of each country assessed to take action on environmental preservation in their respective nation.
The Republic of Colombia being aware about environmental issues, created in 1993, the Ministry of Environment, whose main function is to act as a public entity that promotes recovery, conservation and protection of renewable natural resources to ensure sustainable development and endorse the right of all citizens to enjoy and inherit a healthy environment. In planning programs in the short, medium and long term, is the Colombian Strategy for Low Carbon Development (ECDBC), which aims to stimulate national economic growth by suppressing the emission of greenhouse gases. With the participation of the Industry, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Housing, Waste and Agriculture
Deeply analyzing and understanding the topic proposed gravity of the matter, I propose the following solutions:
• Invite the world's nations to implement the creation of a governmental entity in each country, which is responsible for preserving the endemic natural resources, administer and support similar organizations we count the country and can work with the UNEP international environmental activities.
• Proposes to establish educational programs on environmental protection, which would be sponsored by public entities dedicated to education. The Governments of the countries have a responsibility to support this project and ensure compliance in order to create more responsible and conscious about it generations.
• Recommend the use of sanctions for those who commit acts that affect the preservation of the environment. Such sanctions would be of a different character depending on the opinion of the national judicial organizations in each country.

For me, I liked the education part the most. We already have so many sanctions and laws to protect the environment. But global warming still goes on due to low public awareness on the environment. Like waste segregation. Most of countries have laws and systems for it but the key is willingness of people to properly segregate wastes.

I love the proposed solution to this matter Samuel. "Governmental entity in each country, which is responsible for preserving the endemic natural resources, administer and support similar organizations we count the country and can work with the UNEP international environmental activities." I believe every country has its agency responsible in protecting and conserving the environment and natural resources. But the unique twist here is that, they should work with UNEP in terms of projects and programs. You think all of these will be applicable to every country? Thanks
