A world record piece of street art is to be created in Dubai as part of the UAE?s 43rd National Day celebrations.

The graffiti painting called Rehlatna, or ?Our Journey?, will be in the shape of the nation and stretch 2180 metres when it is completed in the week leading up to December 2. Its creation, which will be spread over two days on November 29 and 30, will be a piece of theatre in itself, with the public are encouraged to head for Jumeirah Beach Park to witness the artists in action.

When complete, it will be the longest collaborative graffiti painting in the world, and portray the crucial stages in the UAE?s progress throughout history.

More than 100 artists are taking part in the project, 70 of which have been flown in for overseas. These ?most esteemed artists in this field? will team up with 30 Arab artists and 20 Emirati artists, as well as some school and college students.
