Yesterday, I got the marvellous opportunity to participate in The Clean Up UAE Campaign 2014.
The Clean Up UAE campaign is the most popular event organised by EEG to get everyone across the country involved from corporations, educational institutions, government departments and individuals in environmental work.
Students who participated in this noble work were given gloves and eco-friendly poly-bags to collect waste me]aterials.
In the clean up, we students collected hundreds of kgs of wastes ranging from plastic cups, bottles to even cans, glass bottles and wastepapers.
After collection, the waste was concentrated in designated areas where it would be recycled in recycling centres.
This annual national campaign has been running since 2002 whereby each year it has expanded in size and popularity.
As it is the 13th edition of the campaign, which means more than a decade, this year the event is greater than it has ever been before! EEG has a target to beat last years 2013 Clean Up of over 112,000 individuals across more than 102 sites spread out across the seven Emirates of UAE.

Well done Manav. My turn for Sharjah is on 12th. I'm also eagerly awaiting the D-day.
It'll be great Manav if you may add pics of the Clean Up. That will add value to the wonderful report you have posted.
