We Can Together Make This World

International Organisations like PETA have taken up the job of making the world 'Leather-Free" to a whole new level. The newest example happened just yesterday

Less than 24 hours after they kicked their campaign to rid Benetton of angora into high gear with a day of nationally coordinated action, the Italian clothing company has bowed to pressure and banned angora in all its approximately 6,000 stores worldwide!

This is wonderful news for angora rabbits. After an unprecedented investigation by PETA Asia of angora rabbit farms in China, the source of 90 per cent of the world?s angora, revealed that workers violently tear the fur out of rabbits? skin as the animals scream in pain, store after store has vowed not to sell products made from angora wool. This is already having a significant impact on the ground in China: from 2013 to 2014, angora exports decreased by 74 per cent. This drastically decreased demand for angora wool means that fewer rabbits are suffering on Chinese farms.

Benetton has joined the long list of angora-free companies that have responded to consumer demand and done the right thing for animals. Fortunately for fans of ethical fashion, humane animal-free fabrics are readily available.

All of this done within a day as PETA amassed online supporters through signatures and demonstrators. This clearly indicates that if we all join hands, we can easily make this world "Leather-Free".

I dont get what happiness people get by wearing the apparels made of animal's skin ?
This is insane , killing animals for the fashion is disgust and greed . Animals also have life and they also have the right to live . We interfere lot in their life , which should be reduced for their long lives . Great move by Benetton .

Thank you for sharing the great news :) People love fashion items made of animal furs and leathers only because they are unaware of its cruel process. Great move done by Benetton!

Angora free stores are a heartening sight. Nice to know that Benetton has banned the same. Animals must be protected & not harmed.
