by | 23-11-2015 04:26 recommendations 0

This is the current project I am working for. Let me know if anyone wants to get involved.

Name: Sahyog

Idea Mobile app connecting volunteers to NGO using Gamification model

Why?

The problem

i

have seen is that a lot of NGOs want to people to volunteer and support them with money but are failing to do so in their true potential

That

  1. People want to volunteer but they fear long term commitment
  2. Preferably volunteer at nearby locations and on short term or daily basis.
  3. Only d

onate money to credible NGOs.

solution to this is a mobile based application which uses the unique concept of gamification

How?

What we have

to

built is a mobile application which bridges this communication by giving users a platform for volunteering opportunity at a place and time that suits them. It will truly exploit the potential of mobile volunteering by making a significant change with small steps of today and will radically change how people spend their free time by making a difference to the world at their convenience.

Feasibility: Of India?s 1.2 billion population with an NGO for every 400 people. 3.3 million NGOs at present exist and are growing at an annual rate of 13.63 %.A staggering number that creates a demand for a service that can join them to the volunteers that shall serve as the fuel for their organization. A recent survey showed that 57% Indians are willing to do community service in their lifetime in one way or another. This presents an opportunity to join 57% of 1,241,491,960 with 3103729 NGOs growing at a rate of 13.63% annually.

Multiplier: 1.  People using social media to show off their badges shall create a competitive spirit as well give a social satisfaction in mind of volunteer which shall increase visibility among users

2. The current NGO will rope its existing users on platform for simpfing the process of managing their current volunteers as well.

Innovation (USP)

  1. Gamification
  2. Just in time volunteering (Using push notification)

Outcome

one million people *5 minutes of their time=a decade worth of volunteering.
