As part of an initiative to spread awareness about diabetes and the need for maintaining a healthier lifestyle, LuLu Hypermarkets chain organised its first ?Walk for Wellness? event at Zabeel Park in Dubai. I was a part if this walk and was amazed to see  enthusiastic participation by more than 3,000 people from all walks of life. The theme this year was ?spread awareness, beat diabetes? .Apart from the walk there were lots of fun activities, games, competitions for the participants to create an active atmosphere for the entire family. All the proceeds from the event were supposed to go to the Dubai Diabetic Centre of the Dubai Health Authority.

The walk started at 9am. Many companies, individuals and children of all ages were holding banners and blowing horns, making the walk a lively affair. The crowd chanting slogans got everyone into the spirit of spreading awareness about diabetes.
