Guru purnima is the popular festival of hindu and buddist that is celebrated in Nepal and India. The word guru is derived from two word Gu and Ru.'Gu' means darkness and' Ru 'means remover of darkness. This festival is dedicated to spritual teacher, yoga teacher or academic teacher, nature, mom or dad who have contributed to any type of learning . Hindu celebrate it in honour of the great sage Vyas, who is considered as one of the greatest gurus in ancient Hindu traditions .From the ancient tradition teacher is regarded as the god in Nepal. They are regarded as the most important people in life as own's parent.Guru purnima is celebrated every where is school, college and the institution.Today I participated at essay writing competition organized by jhinewa group of my college(cultural group representing Newari community of Nepal). The program starts with the formal session .
