Can a small step create such a huge difference?? This was the same reaction in my mind when I heard about this project Online from Fanisa. Well, after reading about it, I had to share this amazing project with you people! Printing.. is very common among us. If we are students, we might have to take many printouts every week with worksheets, assignments, etc If we are working, we might take a lot of them everyday regarding projects, bills, etc. I see whenever I pay my bill in school, they print an A4 size page just for printing some 4-5 lines of information. That is why now I am paying online, so that I can save paper in that way. We also see in emails, "Think before printing this email" or "Only print if needed", etc (if I have ever sent you an email, you would have seen it in my signature too). So, we all, especially Tunza Eco Gen members, are really charged to do our bit to save mother nature. The Minus one project is pretty simple. Just as the name suggests, its object is to reduce the font size before you print. "Do Your Bit. Reduce the font size by 1. Save paper. Help the forests." Yearly, 16 million hectares of forests are cut down and out of that 5 million hectares are just for making paper, out of which most of it goes for printing. By adopting "Minus One", we can reduce the usage by about 50%. Howzzthat!! This project is an initiative of Samsung, who also produces printers and an advocate of sustainability. If you didn't notice, Samsung also supports "Eco-Generation". So, Friends, let us make a mark in re-framing our habits so that mother nature would have a benefit.
