Creeks and Fishes |

Japaneses cuisine has always been a staple delight in every region be it in Europe or in Asia.
The freshness of seafood is something we all can't resist. The savoury blend of seaweed, rice, and soy-infused fish is a flavor that we all look forward to. A lot of these dishes, sashimi's and sushi's, are of tuna's and salmon's. However, unknown to many, the population size of certain species of our world's most craved fish – salmon – are showing alarming signs of shrinkage. Last Wednesday, a specific specie of salmon called the "Coho Salmon" was rescued from Redwood Creek, California after was seen squiggling along the banks. Reports suggest that the water pollution and debris in rivers and seas are causing more and more of these salmons to be wounded and injured. This then results to more deaths. Accordingly, the rescue mission on the "Coho Salmon" concluded in park agents treating the salmon's wounds and placing it back in the water in the hopes of it surviving. According to the San Fransisco Chronicle, Coho salmons are one of the most endangered species of salmons in the United States. Hence, the survival of such feeble creatures are of utmost importance. Efforts are now being done to clean up waters surrounding the area in order to avoid mishaps in the future. I sincerely upload the efforts of the Redwood Creek Park in assuring the safety of these endangered species. I am an avid fan of Japanese food and I wouldn't want such an excellent cuisine to be gone by the time of the next generation. I believe that we all should take action in preserving our marine species, because they are incredibly important to us, the environment and the planet. Thank you for reading!
