Please think about sustainability of your company's business model! Yesterday I found a very interesting article about companies' business model so I want to share that with you. According to the article, companies can be separated to four groups; corporate honeybees, corporate butterflies, corporate caterpillars, and corporate locusts. Corporate locusts is large company with unsustainable business model which is destroying social and environmental value in the world. Corporate caterpillars is small company with unsustainable business model which have relatively local impact. Corporate butterflies is small company with sustainable business model. And Ideal company is, corporate honeybees. the definition of corporate honeybees is like this; ・a sustainable business model, albeit based on constant innovation ・a clear-and appropriate -set of ethics-based business principles ・strategic sustainable management of natural resources ・a capacity for sustained heavy lifting ・sociability and the evolution of powerful symbiotic partnerships ・the sustainable production of natural, human, social, institutional and cultural capital ・a capacity to moderate the impacts of corporate caterpillars in its supply chain, to learn from the mistakes of corporate locusts and, in certain circumstances, to boost efforts of corporate butterflies. I want all entrepreneurs think about this topic, because it's very important not only for the environment but also for your company's long term success!
