Earth Day 2018

Earth Day is Every Day
End Plastic Pollution

Earth Day is now a global event each year, and it is believed that more than 1 billion people in 192 countries now take part in what is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world.

From poisoning and injuring marine life to the ubiquitous presence of plastics in our food to disrupting human hormones and causing major life-threatening diseases and early puberty, the exponential growth of plastics is threatening our planet?s survival.

The Earth Day movement is continuing, to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action. Let us contribute by reducing our carbon footprintplastic footprint and digital carbon footprint in all possible manners. This initiative will make a significant and measurable impact on the Earth and will serve as the foundation of a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet for all. Earth Day is not limited to 22nd April only but can be celebrated on any day. As the slogan goes Earth Day Every Day.

Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi had organized a campaign with 2 groups namely Shallow water clean-up by kayak and Onshore waterline beach and grass areas on April 21st, 2018 at Anantara Hotel, Eastern Mangrove Marina, and Al Mahara Diving Centre.

Together we make a difference 2018 campaign was successful as the volunteers took action to clean-up areas that are being polluted by unnecessary litter such as plastic bottles, plastic cups, Styrofoam, straws, etc.?

More than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped into seas every year and over 90% of seabirds have plastic pieces in their stomach. Let?s create a wave of change and take an online pledge at www.dropityouth.org to refuse single-use plastics (cups, straws, bags, food packaging) and install a filter, carry jute/paper/cloth bags for shopping.

Let us be a part of this green revolution, plan and participate in Earth Day activities moving from single-day actions, such as park cleanups and tree-planting parties to long-term actions and commitments and make our home, area and city, a healthier place to live.

I want to put an end to plastic pollution and that was the reason for my innovation Marine Robot Cleaner which collects wastes from floating water surfaces. I also want to design and program an app Plastic Cleaner App which can send signals to my Marine Robot Cleaner to clean the seas and oceans from debris.

    Hello Sainath!
It would be really great to have Marine Robot Cleaner collecting wastes from floating water surfaces! And the idea of embedding software application does make a good point since most of the current technology goes with IoT. Great idea!
To make this invention more eco-friendly it would be even better if this does not the marine creatures as it works to clear up wastes. Regarding the point, I've got some news about the new invention called SOFI and am posting the link so that you could've get a look!
    Nice report and Happy Earthday!
