Yarshagumba is a rare plant in Nepal. It is found at an altitude of 3000-4200m in the Himalayan region of Nepal. It is a kind of fungi. It grows in the body of caterpillars. This vegetation fall on fungi group. It is reproduced from spores. The spores spread in the air and get stuck in the body of caterpillars and grow there. The fungi grows according to its needs. The more the root of fungi goes in the body of caterpillar, the more the caterpillar become weak. In the end, the caterpillar dies and the fungi derive its food from the dead body of caterpillar and develop as cordyceps. So it has two parts: uppers is cordyceps and lower is fungus. Yarshagumba has medicinal value too. It is used in the treatement of brain and heart diseases. When it is taken with milk and honey it acts as a medicine for the whole body. Due to the unwise collection of yarshagumba especially for chinese medicine, its number is decreasing in Nepal. That is why it is considered as a rare plant of Nepal.
