Gwangju UNEP UEA Youth Fourm was held last October 11-15, 2011.
This article that I'll be writing will be more on my experiences as one of the delegate for this forum.
Being one of the youngest in waste reduction group I find a hard time to mesh with my groupmates. At first I thought that I'll be out of place. All of my groupmates were very active in every discussion especially during our presentation for our intiatives about the environment.
It was really awesome hearing lots of researches, projects and green involvement in our group. I have felt their passion to protect our environment. And also, I'm glad to meet these people for they were all intelligent and humble. I thank God for making friends with them.
During the forum I have learned one thing. I have learned to not giveup our dream for our country and for our environment. Our environment play a very important role in our life. It has lots of resources to offer. We must protect it and give respect to it.
Another thing that I have learned in the forum was we need to set a vision and also to act twice to achieve the goal that we have visualized for our own country and for the environment.
Youth from the different part of the world can play good role in their own community. We are very crestive and innovative to think of ways on how to influence and attract more people to do something good for our environment.
Being a Filipino, it was really a privileged to share my initiatives to other youth around the globe and to represent our country in this kind of important forum. I hope that our government officials will also hear our voice and know that Filipino youth are really foghting for our future (economically and environment).
At this moment I want to thank Christy for giving us the chance to join this kind of forum. It was really a once in a life opportunity and also a life changing experience. I really had fun with this forum listeining and sharing our green passion to other.
Oh. I was really happy to know more about the culture of Korea and other countries.
I hope that I can join more international events like this because it inspired me a lot to do more to protect the environment and to engage more youth in our country. And of course to make the Filipino Youth aware that we must not give up our Philippines.
As a Tunza-eco-generatio regional ambassador to South East Asia, I was really happy and priveleged to attend this forum.
The next article that I will do are my experiences to BYEE GERMANY study trip (Oct. 16-21) so please keep posted.
