Ecofriend- Soyabean

by Sudha Bhandari | 18-07-2020 18:56 recommendations 0

What would give you more Satisfaction than lying down in the bed and watching YouTube or Scrolling fb??

Well, all I can answer  is that growing crops at your own and caring them give  me more happy than anything.

During the time of Asar, I got a beautiful chance to learn about Soyabean and about its crop cycle.

Soybeans or soya beans (Glycine max) are a type of legume native to eastern Asia. They are an important component of Asian diets and have been consumed for thousands of years. In Asia, soybeans are often eaten whole, but heavily processed soya products are much more common in Western countries.

Various soy products are available, including soy flour, soy protein, tofu, soy milk, soy sauce, and soybean oil etc.

Soybeans contain antioxidants and phytonutrients that are linked to various health benefits. However, concerns have been raised about potential adverse effects.

Soybeans are mainly composed of protein but also contain good amounts of carbs and fat.

The nutrition facts for 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of boiled soybeans are :

    Calories: 173

     Water: 63%

      Protein: 16.6 grams

      Carbs: 9.9 grams

       Sugar: 3 gram

       Fiber: 6 grams

       Fat: 9 grams

As , Soybeans are a very rich source of plant-based protein and fat. And their high fiber content is good for our gut health. Further,

Soybeans are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin K1, folate, copper, manganese, phosphorus, and thiamine. Soybeans are a rich source of various bioactive plant compounds, including isoflavones, saponins, and phytic acid. Isoflavones in particular mimic estrogen and are responsible for many of soybeans¡¯ health effects.

Soybeans contain plant compounds that may help prevent breast and prostate cancer, these legumes may relieve menopause symptoms and cut the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

After knowing its benefits, the question is that can we uptake it daily??

As per Doctors recommendations having soya on daily basis may create health issues.  Soya I.e marketed  may be rich in phytates or phytic acid, which blocks absorption of essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc.  is also full of trypsin inhibitors. Trypsin is an enzyme that we need to digest protein.

Keeping everything on mind, I have grown seedlings of Soyabean at my home and planted with Rice to learn about its cycle and the process is still on. Let¡¯s Learn, grow  together and let¡¯s contribute together.
