Monthly event September- Zero waste lifestyle Hi everyone I hope you all are well. I would like to thank eco- generation for bringing this monthly contest on Zero Waste Lifestyle. I encourage not only my family members but also the neighbour to adopt healthy and eco-centric life Here are Steps in zero waste lifestyle: Reduce- lowering the amount of waste produced Reuse- using materials repeatedly Recycle – using old materials to make new product Recovery- recovering energy from waste Landfill- safe disposal of waste to landfill Below I present some of the zero waste lifestyle Here are zero waste lifestyle that me and my family are doing: a. Reuse of empty chocolates container to keep kitchen foods contrast to commercial containers. Below I have attached my photo with the container where we keep food items such as beans, salt, chilli powder, etc. b. Reuse of old unused broken plastic items to plant flowers/ plants Doing such, it does not only manage the unused plastic substances but also we can be benefitted in many ways. I have collected unused and leaked plastic appliances and planted chillies, mints and other plants. Doing such, it does not only manage the unused plastic substances but also we can be benefitted by the plants and crops. c. Use reusable bags whenever going shopping d. Carrying reusable water bottles. e. Compost manure using kitchen by-products Peeled of materials from vegetables are used for making manure f. I usually prefer going short distance walking rather than by vehicles g. Use of solar power for electricity h. Draining of excess water from kitchen to crop field. It takes more than half century for plastics to decompose. We can imagine to what extent we are messing our mother earth. Even though, the endeavour of a single person is can benefit al lot. Thank you!
