6 of the Healthiest Places To Live in the United States

Your health is a key factor in your general quality of life. If you do not feel well, it makes it more difficult to do the things you want to do and work to achieve your goals. Where you live may have an influence on your overall health. There are a lot of factors that determine the health of a particular location. Here are some of the healthiest places in the United States, organized from north to south and from east to west.

1. Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore is a good place for recreation, which provides opportunities for fun and physical activity. There are seven volleyball courts along Baltimore Beach, and the city proper is home to multiple recreation centers and park playgrounds. If you buy property in or around Baltimore, you can hire pool construction Maryland, or you can take advantage of the many public swimming pools available.

2. Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta is a hospitable city where three-quarters of the residents report close relationships with family and friends, higher than the national average. This social wellness contributes to overall health. Atlanta is also a city that has benefitted from a culture of physical health. Compared to other cities, it brings in the most per capita revenue from wellness businesses, such as gyms.

3. Miami, Florida

Although Miami is famous for its boisterous nightlife, 62% of residents report getting a full night's sleep. As in Atlanta, many fitness studios thrive in Miami. Over half of residents report attending group fitness classes on at least a weekly basis, and 80% report at least a weekly workout, whether at fitness center or on their own.

4. Minneapolis, Minnesota

Yoga is very popular in Minneapolis. The percentage of people participating in yoga at least weekly in Minneapolis is larger than in almost any other city at 30%. Even if not performing yoga, the percentage of people in Minneapolis who work out once a week or more is over 75%.

5. Austin, Texas

The unofficial motto of the capital of Texas is "Keep Austin Weird," and while creative and mentally stimulating activities may not translate directly to weirdness, over half of its residents participate in such activities regularly. This contributes to its intellectual wellness. Residents of Austin also report frequent hydration by drinking multiple glasses of water per day, full nights of sleep, and regular workouts.

6. Denver, Colorado

Colorado cities in general tend to rank highly among the healthiest places in America. In Denver, nearly half of all residents report satisfaction with their overall health and fitness level. For the latter, the national average is less than one-third. Citizens of Denver have invested in both, with over 80% reporting at least weekly workouts.

7. Seattle, Washington

Nationwide, a little over half of all residents report receiving an annual medical check-up. In Seattle, that figure is closer to two-thirds. People in Seattle also work out frequently and favor fitness activities that they can perform as a group, which probably contributes to social wellness as well.

6. San Francisco, California

San Francisco has fewer smokers than most of the other big cities in the country, and its people eat more fruits and vegetables than in other cities. San Francisco offers a wide variety of wellness businesses that promote health, including integrative health facilities, spas, fitness studios, and gyms. As a result, residents looking for activities that suit their individual styles have a lot of options to choose from. They typically don't have to go out of their way to find the right facility either; for every square mile in the city, there are 16.2 wellness businesses operating.

It is important to note that merely moving to one of these cities will not automatically make you healthier. On the other hand, it may be easier to change your habits if you have the example of people around you to follow.
