Living a healthier life is a long-term goal for many people, but it's doable — and now, you have a convenient guide to help you on your way. From identifying your body type to making a budget, fitness and health experts have put together everything, you need to know about living a healthier life in our new Health & Fitness issue.

We all know that eating right, working out, and getting enough sleep is important for a quality life, but it's not always easy to reconcile those things with life's other responsibilities. The truth is that living a healthier life is possible — but you have to make it happen. Sure, you don't have to be the healthiest person in the world — no one expects that. But incorporating healthier choices into your daily diet can help you live a more comfortable and productive lifestyle.

1. Cut Down On Processed Foods

Processed foods have ingredients that you can't even pronounce. The labels may seem easy to read, but the ingredients are almost always hard to understand; they're simply chemicals and very little actual food. This can cause your body to produce more toxins, which leads to possible weight gain and other health problems down the road. Instead of picking up processed foods at the supermarket, opt for organic as much as possible.

2. Drink More Water

Dehydration can cause thrive side effects, including headaches and weight gain. The standard 8-ounce glass of water is important for running your system smoothly, but drinking a glass of water for every alcoholic drink can help keep you hydrated. Drinking more water also helps you lose weight. When you hydrate yourself, your body feels satisfied, which enables you to eat less. Our bodies need water to function correctly, so don't deprive yourself. Also, try adding some lemon or lime juice to regular water — it gives it a truly refreshing taste and can also add some vitamin C.

3. Eat More Fruits And Vegetables

People who eat a lot of fruits and vegetables tend to live longer, healthier lives. Fruits and veggies contain vitamins and minerals that are essential to keeping your body healthy, while they add a burst of flavor to whatever you're eating. Instead of spending money on expensive snacks, try going for fruits such as apples or oranges. They're low in calories and high in antioxidants, which make your metabolism work faster.

4. Exercise More

Getting the exercise you need is important for maintaining a healthy body, but it can be hard to squeeze in time for working out. You can make time by exercising during your lunch break at work or by making exercise part of your daily routine. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, or walk to a nearby store instead of driving there. Just try to take a little more activity each day to help keep yourself feeling good and running smoothly — and feeling good about yourself too!

You can do many things to improve your health without breaking the bank or putting too much effort into it. Above are a few ways to live a healthy life in our stressful and busy world. We sometimes forget to invest in ourselves. We're all so busy running around meeting deadlines, fielding dozens of e-mails, and checking our Twitter feeds that it's hard to find time to take care of ourselves. It's almost as if being healthy has become an inconvenience.
