Green Hydrogen: A new form of renewable energy

by Divyasree Gorantla | 17-02-2023 02:25 recommendations 0

Green hydrogen is a type of hydrogen that is produced using renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, or hydropower through a process called electrolysis. During this process, an electric current is passed through water, separating it into its constituent parts, hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen produced through this process is referred to as "green" because it is produced using a clean, renewable energy source, and does not produce any greenhouse gas emissions.

Green hydrogen has many potential uses, particularly in industries that are difficult to decarbonize, such as transportation and heavy industry. For example, green hydrogen can be used as a fuel for fuel cell electric vehicles, providing a zero-emissions alternative to conventional fossil fuel-powered vehicles. It can also be used in industrial processes such as steelmaking, where it can replace coal in the production process, reducing carbon emissions.

While green hydrogen is a promising technology, it is still relatively expensive to produce compared to hydrogen produced from fossil fuels. However, as renewable energy costs continue to decline and the demand for low-carbon alternatives grows, green hydrogen is expected to become increasingly competitive and widely adopted.

    Hi, Divyasree Gorantla!
    This is your mentor, Yoon.

Thank you for introducing green hydrogen, a new form of renewable energy. By the way, hydrogen is a way to store energy. Producing green hydrogen is just transferring electrical energy into chemical energy.

Great job on writing the free report.
I am looking forward to reading your following report!
