Election Creating Pollution

by | 20-11-2013 14:11 recommendations 0

Nepal, after the long political instability, has now got into the process of election though bearing different troubles and protests. Election has sounded like a festival. Person related to different areas have already reviewed the impact of this election in political, economical, social sectors etc. But no such interviews or the writings are made discussing about the impact of this election in environment.

The trend of advertising in the election is inevitable thing. But this advertisement has created more pollution. First of all, the candidates have left nothing behind to paste their pamphlets, posters etc. They have distributed different paper printed letters, declaration papers etc. The walls are fully decorated. Nothing would have mattered if only the walls would get decorated. But those papers,  pamphlets, posters and the other materials were thrown hazardously without caring the pollution it has created. Many political parties have made declaration for clean and green environment but how can they fulfill their commitment towards environment if they pollute it right before election? Papers prepared for the election will now start to cover the streets as the voting day has already ended. No one have thought about the sustainable use of resources. If such thought would arose in their mind, they would have prepared the materials just how much they need. But due to absence of such thinking it has disturbed the beauty of our country. The main factors that the candidates didn't care for environment:
  • Sustainable use of resources
  • Pollution of the streets
  • Noise pollution
  • Proper way of advertising
Note: This is my first articles. I expect apology if anything mentioned here is wrong. Hope for your comments.
