Polluting water bodies

by | 21-01-2014 00:38 recommendations 0

Recently I visited a zoo in Abu Dhabi, UAE and I was shocked to see plastic debris floating in a crocodile pond. I knew that it can affect the health of animals as plastic can choke animals to death and cause respiratory and digestive diseases. People were throwing plastic wastes like bottles and wrappers in the pond

Being an animal lover and a person who want to save Earth from all sorts of pollution, I brought up this issue in Gulfnews newspaper. The article was published in Gulfnews on 8th November 2013. They contacted the zoo authorities. Authorities now have already started making a new pond with better enclosure to prevent people from throwing. Many thanks to Gulfnews and the zoo authorities.

Normally such thins are rare in UAE. Still it is promising that corrective action was taken

This is quite surprising. I can't imagine throwing trashes in a zoo. Thanks for sharing Afra.
