Greenfund Korea hosted 'Children's life and safety forum' on 17th of July at Alleh Square Gwanghwamoon in Seoul, Korea. There were 6 children's representatives from elementary and middle school all around Korea. I was the one of them. Greeanfund organization presented the result of survey that they had made previously to collect data for this forum during 2 weeks before. The safety score of children diagnosed in our society that is 60. I said if you received 60 score from your test it could be low to be reflection. We've started to discuss based on the survey. One of co-head from Greenfund Korea Mr. Kim Yongtaek poet was the moderator in this forum. The most urgent issue for children's life and safety is the 'school violence' panelists said. Sungjin Chae said there are those kinds of accidents happen often in his school, such as strong kids tease and beat other weak kids but usually these happenings are behind teacher's eyes so teachers should carefully observe their kids in the school. One panel Chaehan Yang commented about cancellation of field trip in the school bwcause of Sewol Tragedy. She said its precious memory for students when they remind their school life. So we should learn properly how we protect our safety by ourselves. I pointed out improvement of grown-up's level of concsiouseness for children's safety. I had an bad experience last winter in the school zone that one parent's car wheel went on my foot so I had casted for 6 weeks. A violation of speed limit and illegally parked car in the school threat the children's safety the most. Discussion led to an hour. Mr. Kim poet said I'm ashamed as an adult and a teacher as well. To save the safety of children policy and regulation have to be done by consistently and systematically. As resolve the structural problems of school such as reducing the number of students per class can be solved the school violence fundamentally. Meanwhile, the survey showed that children cited the most unsafety factor in our society are the war (36%), school violence (21%), natural disasters caused by climate change (21 percent). The solution is to threaten the life safety strengthen penalties for people (27%), life safety training from an early age (21%), and national security policy-making (20%), and so on. In particular, 13% of the children were "Corruption that threatening social security has to be eliminated'. |

Thanks for bringing up this topic. If you think and if you heard around, bullying is not only prevalent in schools but also in colleges , universities and at times in work places as well. Sometimes it is also called as ragging. I would like to advise people to put their energy in +ve values like environment education/protection,social work , helping other school mates rather than indulging in bullying.

I guess school bullying is one of the social problems that are arising these days.. I also thought maybe this problem could also be solved by environmental education or experiecing programs such as planting trees, making a garden of their own, or making a bird house for the birds... Since this can reduce students' stress, and also solve the problems each individuals face through doing many activities in the nature.
