Outstanding Delegate Award for Simran Vedvyas representing Human Rights Watch at WE Model United Nations EXPO 2012 Beijing China

2,500 of the brightest students from more than 30 countries participated in the largest Model UN platform in Asia. This event is thus recognized as the largest program of its kind in Asia.

The Conference Program is directed specifically for high school students, I was chosen to be a part of the team selected by my school to participate and the submitted profiles were then selected by the Organizers.  The partner conferences selected their best committees and staff members to join at the EXPO, ensuring all of the delegates had the most stimulating MUN experience possible.

Conference was Hosted by WEMUNC at Beijing China from 26^th July till 29^th July 2012 with a large size of 49 Committees.

I represented WEMUNC as committee NGO Human Rights Watch == Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations and was awarded with recognition at the Award Ceremony as Outstanding Delegate

WEMUN Expo 2012 was held in The Grand Epoch City, situated in Xianghe, a county 50 kilometers southeast of Beijing. The Grand Epoch City, measures over 200 hectares in size and is designed to be a roughly 1/6 model of old Beijing, back when the city still had walls. It contains temples, fountains, winding little hutongs, placid ponds, and a myriad of other amenities. The entire scenic area is surrounded by an enormous wall, modeled on the old Beijing city wall. The G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting was also held at this venue.

There were two days of intense sessions with fun filled evenings including the Global Village and Delegate Dance Sessions.  The trip also gave us the opportunity to visit the Olympic Village, and also climb a part of the Great Wall of China, which to me is an unforgettable experience with friends. The amazing learning experience for me and my mates call in for more though for some it may seem a mock which they still would run out for if given a chance.
