by | 23-01-2017 17:32 recommendations 0

Last year, October, a program named ?Sri Lanka Next- A Blue Green Era? was held in Colombo in collaboration with UN-REDD Programme. Climate Change is one of the main topics, subjected to the consideration of all participants there, for the Youth Forum. Most of the youth aware about climate change and they engage with some activities to reduce the effects of climate change. General public, school children, university students and industries highly committed to reduce their electricity consumption, natural resource consumption and the amount of waste generation. Industries are very keen on their carbon footprint and they implement several strategies to reduce their carbon footprint and also most of the industries have taken initiatives to forestry projects and renewable energy projects.
