2018 Junior Eco Engineering Academy
August 7-9, 2018, Seoul, Republic of Korea

삼성엔지니어링 대표 사회공헌활동 꿈나무 푸른교실에서는 미래 공학 인재를 발굴하고 청소년 환경 리더를 양성하고자 ‘주니어 에코엔지니어링 아카데미’를 개최합니다.

특히 이번 8월에 진행되는 글로벌 차수는 10여개 국에서 초청된 20명의 에코 리더들과 함께할 예정으로 아래와 같이 한국 거주 대표 학생 20명을 선발하오니 관심 있는 청소년들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.

                                                               

※ 만14세 미만 청소년의 경우 가입이 불가하므로 부모님의 정보로 가입을 하신 후, 참가 신청을 해주시기 바랍니다.

※ 참가 동기 동영상은 Youtube 혹은 구글 링크로 제출하시면 되며, Attachment 항목에는 CV (연락처 포함) 문서를 첨부해주시기 바랍니다.

※ 제출시 오류가 날 경우 링크 및 CV를이메일 (ecogeneration@samsung.com)로 보내주시기 바랍니다.

    

※ <주니어 엔지니어링 아카데미> 글로벌 차수 미등록분에 대한 참가 신청을 선착순으로 받고 있습니다. 전 과정 영어로 진행되는 <주니어 엔지니어링 아카데미> 글로벌 차수에 참가를 원하시는 중학생 회원분들께서는 영어 참가 지원 영상 및 CV(연락처 포함)를 저희 웹사이트를 통해 제출해주시기 바랍니다. 온라인으로 접수가 완료된 참가자에게는 7월 9일(월)부터 순차적으로 이메일로 참가신청서를 보내드리는 것으로 선발 확인이 될 예정입니다.

 

 

 

    

Eco-generation of Samsung Engineering would like to offer opportunities to the young students to participate in the 2018 Junior Eco Engineering Academy which will be held in Seoul, South Korea by inviting the respective winners around the world to explore the environmental awareness activities.
 Winners will be given the opportunities to participate in the 2018 Junior Eco-Engineering Academy which program includes specialist lecture, laboratory demonstrations and experiments, hands-on project, presentation competition and a variety of other activities in order to advance their awareness on the role and commitment to energy efficiency, energy conservation, and mitigating energy-related impacts on the environment. Junior Eco Engineering Academy will be held at Samsung GEC, headquarter of Samsung Engineering in Sangil-dong, Seoul.
 
Purpose
•       To raise awareness among youth within the community towards conservation of the environment and energy efficiency
•       To grow future eco-leaders by enhancing global leadership resulting from participating a variety of activities throughout the Academy
•       To fulfill the social responsibility through educating the future generation
 
Academy details
•    Date : August 7 ~ 9, 2018
   - Aug 7 (9:00 ~ 18:00) : Opening ceremony, Lecture, Team-building, Group discussion
   - Aug 8 (9:00 ~ 18:00): Lecture, Group project, Presentation competition, Awarding ceremony
   -  Aug 9 (optional) : Sightseeing in Seoul with global participants
•     Venue : Samsung GEC, Sangildong, Gangdonggu, Seoul
•     Fee: Free

Eligibility
•     Students attending intermediate schools as of 2018 in South Korea 

•     An intermediate level of English fluency required                

How to apply

A. Please make a Video clip of you talking about 'Why I should attend this Junior Engineering Academy' in English within 2 minutes.

- Please tell us about your dream in the future and why it's important to relate engineering with your dream.

B. Please upload it to Youtube (www.youtube.com) with UNLISTED option. You may use other streaming or cloud service to upload your video.

C. Please write a brief of your clip in the content box.

       - Go to the Application Form page (Click here).

       - Please write a brief of your video clip in the content column.

      - Copy your Youtube link or downloadable video link and paste it in the URL box under Content box.

       - Attach your CV in the attachment column. (MS word and pdf type only). CV can includes your extracurricular activities such as clubs, contests and other experiences at school as well as outside the school.

       - Complete the application by clicking the Submit button.

1. Am I still allowed to participate even if I have participated in the GYELS last year?
- YES, because the program has been rebooted.

2. Does the video have to be in English or Korean?
- in Engligh

3. Do I have to apply via Eco-generation website or Korean website(www.e-gen.co.kr)?
- You have to apply for the global session via Tunza Eco-generation website.

4. Do I have to make a video or can I write an essay?
- You can film you talking about your dream and the environment in English by your mobile phone, Then upload it on your cloud or youtube in unlisted option and inform us the link.

5. Do I have to stay with global participants at the hotel?

- No, Korean participants should arrive at the venue by 9:00  (Samsung Engineering Headquarter in Sangildong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul) in the morning for two days. On day 3, participants shall meet up at Insadong to take a tour bus in the morning. We will inform more details to the participants in mid July.

6. Do I have to appear on the video?

- Yes, you should appear on the screen to judge whether the speaker is you or not.

7. I have participated in the Global Youth for the Environment Forum, can I participate in this Academy again?

- Yes, because the program has been rebooted, you can apply.

8. I have applied for Junior Engineering Academy's Korean session, am I still eligible to apply?

- Yes, you can apply for the both events.

※ Please note that we do not provide accomodations for Korean participants. Korean participants should arrive at Samsung Global Engineering Center on Aug 7 and Aug 8. For the excursion on Aug 9, we will notify the place of departure on Aug 7 and it is NOT compulsary to participate in the excursion.
