REPORT:BIODIVERSITY

by CARLOS OCON DEGAMO JR. | 09-05-2019 11:10 recommendations 1

According to the dictionary the variety of life in the world or in a habitat or ecosystem.

We all know that bio means life. name given to the variety of ecosystems, species and genes in the world or in a habitat. It is essential to human wellbeing, as it delivers services that sustain our economies and societies.

The Philippines is one biodiverse country and it is containing two-thirds of the Earth¡¯s biodiversity and seventy percent of world¡¯s plants and animal species due to its geographical isolation, diverse habitats and high rates of endemism. It`s provides several ecosystem services, food, water, energy sources, pharmaceuticals, biomass fuels.

the marine biodiversity in Philippines is highly threatened by a host of factors ranging from destructive fishing practices to soil erosion and global warming. The comparatively high number of species found only in the Philippines indicates a real threat of extinction, including of species that have yet to be discovered by scientists.

We must protect our biodiversity no matter where you are as long you protect our mother earth and implementing our laws and we must be proactive and helping each other so that we aim our goals and live peacefully and happy because everyone has the right to live no matter how small species you are because everyone has a vital role in our ecosystem.

    Hi Carlos,

Thank you for your time and efforts in this report. It is surprising and saddening to hear that Philippines is currently losing its biodiversity. For tourist, I believe biodiversity is definitely one big factor to attract them to visit the country, and I think the government should take actions to mitigate the speed and the severity of this issue. Could you please think about what actions we can take? Great work!

It's such an informative report and I gotta admit it. But sad to know about the extinction biodiversity again. It has become a free custom word for biodiversity in given context of our world. Because each and every species either of plant or animal is being endangered and in the verge to get extinct. And also water pollution case is very disappointing one.
Hope through this powerful organization of Tunza , we can excel all those imaginative power of every members involved in it and bring solutions to the mother nature problem and bring balance to ecosystem.
    Green cheers.

    Greetings Carlos,

It is quite saddening to see that a country with rich biodiversity such as Philippines is also suffering from possibilities of extinction.
Couldn't agree with you more that we should take care of our biodiversity for our future!
Maybe your next report could be on the steps we could take to mitigate this issue.

    Sincerely,
    Eco Generation

    Hello Carlos!

It is surprising to hear that the Philippines contain two thirds of world biodiversity and seventy percent of animals and plants species. Conserving the habitats of these species must be crucial in protecting world biodiversity. Implementing laws will be the one way to protect it. However, then, what can we do to save the biodiversity as an individual? Thank you for your report and keep up the good work!
