Monthly report on Importance of data in Environmental Management works

by Hnin Phyu Sin | 21-11-2018 01:35 recommendations 0

There are many definition on data. What is data? data is the information which can be translated into a form which is efficient for processing and human can contract the results at the end of data processing.
Developing countries are rare of data other than the industrialized countries. Why? As the country is poor, the human resources are not develop and scientific research cannot be done easily and we have to take the international aid at that time. Many educated person are not coming back to his own country due to the country's poor status and as country's poor management lose the educated person. There are many reasons for that case. So as, data can be get by doing research activities and as today's age is the IT Age, we can look the earth or one place from satellite and radar image. The famous one where most of the data can get is NASA. NASA is very famous for presenting many genius scientists, technician and researchers from everyone around the globe. After collecting data, we can extract many information by using advanced software.
When I attended one workshop on Water, Land and Ecosystem forum, most of the attendees proposed on lack of data. There are many open data portals nowadays for the students to do research easily and many line ministries are opening to sell the data to the teachers, students and researchers. If we do not look for anything, we wouldn't find. Also, the data provider should also make the loud voice and data hunger should go and fetch there.
Data are not always perfect thing, we can expect one nearest possible solution in the future but we couldn't accept that is the sure thing because we can't compute from the holistic point of view and we have to make the clear decision on that also.

    Hello Hnin
Data is a useful information that could be analyzed for better decision making.
And as the society grows more and more developed in ICT, now information itself is the object of service. With good analyzing methods to show significant results, data could be used to find patterns and useful implication on problems that we are facing.
    Thanks for the report :)

Hello Hnin, I used to check the weather report or expectation data set concerning my country and surrounding areas before season changes. Though not all the weather reports hit the actual weather for 100%, it still makes me prevent drastic changes in a single day weather or so.
As you said, data is not something definite nor perfect, but it still gives us direction or alternative options to proceed onto next steps :)
Hope our modern data technologies help us prevent further problems coming from climate change and other environmental problems!

    Hey there Hnin!

It is true that raw data can be analysed into valuable information. In actual fact, we have millions, if not billions of information at our fingertips, it's just that not many people have access to it.

Moreover, Many IT or data heavy companies and cooperations have data but are reluctant to share. The more they make it a point to share their work, especially with the youth, the better connected and informed we will be.

Thank you for stating the facts and being conscious with what's happening to our environment!

    Lovely reporting Hnin!

    Hello Hnin Phyu Sin
A warm Namaste from the country of Mt Everest and birthplace of lord Buddha, Nepal

Your report is short but carry a very heavy message,
Yes there is trend of leaving country for higher education and they rarely come back.
In nepal lots of students go abroad such as USA, Europe ,Australia but very few return back. They study higher education, perform various research and earn lot of money ,finally settle there.
Then my developing country can never be developed, we don't have enough researcher and enough data of anything
We have 40% jungle in our country but we have very few research in these forest.
Data are very important for the country to move forward in development.

Thank You so much for this report.
